Business Honoring Spirituality Board Responsibilities

President

  1. Function as principal contact for the association.
  2. Organize and conduct weekly Thursday morning meetings.
  3. Delegate responsibilities of BHS to others as needed and necessary.
  4. Organize and prepare agenda for monthly Board meetings.
  5. Conduct monthly Board meetings.
  6. Represent BHS at Mile Hi Church councils.
  7. Insure appointments of Directors with Board approval.

Vice-President

  1. Conduct Thursday meetings in President's absence or on a rotating basis with the President.
  2. Fill in for President at Board meetings in President's absence.
  3. Liaison for other Board of Directors to ensure all Directors / committees needs are met.
  4. Responsible for the collection of nominations, election and communication of selection for BHS non-profit tithing.
  5. Non-profit Liaison for BHS, coordinating non-profit tables, tithing and one 3 minute speaking session from non-profit table.

Secretary

  1. Record minutes of monthly Board meetings and keep current association records.
  2. Provide previous month's Board meeting minutes at least 5 days before current months Board meeting for approval or correction.
  3. Handle miscellaneous association correspondence and notices.

Treasurer

  1. Maintain association's financial records.
  2. Collect all monies from donation baskets, with help as needed.
  3. Make weekly bank deposits of Thursday's donation receipts and any additional funds accumulated by the association.
  4. Purchase $20.00 bookstore gift certificates for speaker gift as necessary.
  5. Ensure Volunteer Director receives $125 for following week's food.
  6. Pay association expenses as directed by the Board.
  7. Provide updated financial statements at monthly Board meeting.
  8. Provide quarterly and yearly financial statements to the Board and to Mile Hi Church.
  9. Manage PayPal account.
  10. Creates yearly budget for Annual meeting (Board retreat).

Licensed Practitioner / Spiritual Director

  1. Provide guidance and counseling to Board members and association membership in the association's efforts to promote and set spiritual values in business.
  2. Provide open and closing meditations at monthly Board and weekly Thursday meetings, holding consciousness for the group.
  3. Speak to uphold spiritual based decisions.

Marketing Director

  1. Be responsible for the distribution of the speaker brochure so distribution may occur in a timely manner.
  2. Responsible for annual Membership Directory to include solicitations of listings, collecting money for ads and distribution.
  3. Manage and coordinate spot-light tables.
  4. Introduce spot-light tables on Thursday morning meetings.
  5. Contact other businesses / vendors to distribute BHS marketing materials. 

Speaker Program Director

  1. Work closely with the Board members to meet group guidelines for speakers that will bring inspiration and / or benefit to BHS members / guests, with a good balance of business and spirituality.
  2. Responsible for booking appropriate speakers for the associations weekly Thursday morning meetings.
  3. Provide, on a timely basis, a bi-monthly speaker schedule containing a short description of speaker and message for inclusion in the BHS brochure and website.
  4. Responsible for a substitute speaker at the Thursday meeting in the event of a speaker cancellation.
  5. Prepare, or keep current the list of speaker's guidelines to accurately inform speakers of the requirements and needs of the group.
  6. Introduce each weeks speaker at the Thursday morning meetings (or arrange for President / Vice-President to do it in your absence), and help create desire for people to attend the next meeting by telling them who the next weeks speaker will be.
  7. Responsible for the gathering of speaker information and distributing to publisher and web coordinator. 

Web Design Director

  1. Manage all web design for bhsmilehi.org.
  2. Responsible for posting speaker brochure monthly on website.
  3. Responsible for creation of monthly newsletter.

Volunteer Director

  1. Responsible for Thursday morning breakfast, including soliciting four to six people to prepare breakfast, supplying them money and opening the community center at 6 AM.
  2. Coordinate weekly refreshments and cleanup efforts.
  3. Insure the community center kitchen is clean.
  4. Introduce and allow time for breakfast volunteers to introduce themselves and their businesses, in 5 minutes or less total.

Membership Director

  1. Introduce visitors and guests at the Thursday morning meeting and allow them 20 seconds to introduce themselves and businesses.
  2. Responsible for monthly networking meeting.
  3. Collect all monies from donation baskets.
  4. Assist Associate Director with the Welcoming table as necessary.
  5. Survey the Thursday morning group for feedback and improvement.
  6. Responsible for visibility table every third Sunday at the community center. 

Associate Directors / Member at Large

Associate Directors include the immediate past president and one other "Member at Large" approved by the board. Associate Directors may site on the board, but shall have no vote on any issue except when there is an absent regular board member at an official meeting of the board.

  1. Coordinate contacts with members not attending to encourage participation to membership, the ambassador group.
  2. Collect all monies from donation baskets.
  3. Responsible for the Thursday morning Welcoming table.

Shared Duties

  1. All members of the Board of Directors, including Associate Directors, are asked to help with hospitality, set up, clean-up efforts, and help to make all guests feel welcomed.
  2. Encourage attendance and participation among members.
  3. Show other members what they can do to help (such as putting chairs up, putting kitchen items away, etc.)
  4. When possible attend the visibility Sunday (every third Sunday of the month) at the church community center after at least one of the services.
